First-Rate Sake for the World
There are five sake brewery heirs in Nagano, who were born in the 59th year of the Showa era (1984). 59Jo“Gokujo” is the group these five men formed, who are partners as much as rivals. The name is a combination of their birth year and the Japanese word 極上 meaning “something that is the best of its kind.” And thusly so, they persevere in their goal to brew alcohol of the highest quality and shape the future of sake.
